My Best Reading Plan!

PLAN Nº 7/DATE: 23RD MAY/TRAINEE: ZACNUN, ARIANA / LESSON AIM: TO DEVELOP READING SKILLS (a wall display)

PRE-
READING
1.1 The T will write “IRELAND” on the bb and will elicit any thing ss may know about this country.

1.2 The T will ask ss to have a look at the title and the pictures and will ask ss to try to predict what they think they are going to read.

1.3 The T will ask ss if they know the meanings of MYTHS, FLAG, OCCUPY AND FAMINE. If ss do not know any of the meanings she will explain the meanings.

  • myth: a story that people believe but that is not true.
  • flag:a piece of cloth that represents countries.
  • occupy: to stay in a place
  • famine: having little or no food.

1.4 The T will ask ss to read the 5 subtitles of the text and she will ask ss to predict what they are going to learn about Ireland.
1.1 SS will say what they know about Ireland.


1.2 SS will look at the title and at the pictures and will guess what they think they are going to read about.


1.3 SS will try to say, if they know, what the meanings of the words myths, flag, occupy and famine.








1.4 SS will read the 5 subtitles of the text and predict what they are going to learn about Ireland.

READING
2.1 The T will ask ss to read and check their predictions.

2.2 The T will ask ss to answer the following questions:

  • When was Ireland independent?
  • What other name is give to “little people”?
  • Mention some Irish famous people .

2.2 The T will ask ss to do ex 4 proposed by the book on page 48 in which ss are expected to read and choose the correct answers.
2.1 SS will read and check their predictions.

2.2 SS will answer the questions the T hands out.

READING
3.1 The T will ask ss to answer the following question:

  • Would you like to visit Ireland? Why?/Why not?
(SS are expected to use the information learned about Ireland present in the text)
3.1 SS will answer the T’s question by using the information provided in the text.
